Where are you located? We are located in New York. Do you charge sales tax? We charge sales tax only if you are a resident of New York State. How much do you charge for shipping? Standard shipping to anywhere in the Continental United States will cost you just $10.00 per order. If you are shipping outside of the United States and/or if you would like us to expedite the shipment, additional charges apply. Why are your products priced lower than those on other websites? Here at Capital Styles, we believe that customers should be able to purchase designer merchandise for affordable prices. We have often purchased our products from reputable resellers at discounted rates. By doing this, we can pass the savings on to you. Why are there no pictures for certain products? The Capital Styles website is constantly being updated. In order to bring you the latest styles as quickly as possible, we oftentimes add a product to the website before the product image is available. We then upload the image as soon as we can. What is the “retail value” price of an item? When we use the term “retail value,” we are referring to the price at which an item may be sold on a regular basis; this price is applicable both in the United States and other countries. Our buyers are responsible for estimating the retail value price, and they calculate it before any discounts, sales, or promotions. Additionally, our buyers may use information from out vendors when calculating the retail value price. Capital Styles offers a wide selection of products; therefore, we cannot guarantee that any item is being offered at the retail value we have listed, in any place at any time. The product may or may not have been sold at the given retail price. Do you have a print catalog? Capital Styles does not make a print catalog; we post our complete inventory on our website. We have chosen to sell our products online because our inventory is constantly changing, and a website allows us to reflect these changes in a timely fashion. Furthermore, our website helps us avoid back orders, which improves customer satisfaction levels. Do you sell gift certificates? Yes, you can order a gift certificate for any value. Simply email us at info@capitalstyles.com, and we will send you further instructions. Please make sure to include the desired gift certificate amount in the email. What do I need to know about promotions? Capital Styles offers many discounts and promotional codes, which we collectively refer to as “promotions.” You may only use a promotion on online purchases of merchandise, and you must use it during the specified time period. Unless we have specified other conditions, you may only use each promotion once. Additionally, a promotion cannot be combined with other promotions.
  • If the promotion states that it is for a one-time use, then you can only apply that promotion towards one purchase. If you have not exhausted the entire value of the promotion, then the remaining value will be forfeited.
  • Promotions cannot be used on purchases made with gift certificates. Promotions to not apply to shipping costs and any applicable taxes, unless otherwise stated.
  • You may not use a promotion on a previously placed order.
  • Promotions for free shipping may be used only if the package is being shipped within the Continental United States; the shipping method will be U.S. standard ground.
  • If a promotion has a minimum order size requirement, then the minimum may not include gift certificate credit(s), shipping charges.
  • Some promotions require that you buy at least one item in order to get a discount on an additional item. In this case, the item with the lowest price will receive the discount.
  • If you return merchandise that was originally purchased using a promotion, then your return credit will reflect the promotional price. You cannot reuse the promotion if it has expired.
  • At any time, our inventory of promotional items may become exhausted. Therefore, promotional items are only available while supplies last, and we will not give out any form of compensation for the items that do run out of stock.
  • Capital Styles has the right to extend or terminate a promotion at any time, at its discretion.

Shopping, Ordering, and Account Questions

How do I place an order on Capital Styles? First, browse our wide variety of items and decide which ones you would like to purchase. When you have made your decision, you can add each item to your shopping bag by clicking on the “Add to Shopping Bag” button (located next to the item). After you have placed all of the items in your shopping bag, click on the “Proceed to Checkout” button (located inside your shopping bag). If you need to navigate to your shopping bag, simply click on the “Shopping Bag” link, which you can find at the top right corner of our website. Once you have clicked the “Proceed to Checkout” button, we will guide you through the checkout process. You will have to enter your billing and shipping addresses in order to complete the process. We will send you an email notification after you submit your order; we also begin processing your order. How do I shop by designer? Shopping by designer is easy and fast. First, click on the link to the department (e.g. Handbags, Women, Clearance) that you would like to browse. We have provided these links at the top of all of our webpages. Once you reach the department page, you will see a list of available designers on the left side of the page. When you click on a designer's name, you will be able to view all of the items in that department that were made by that designer (e.g. clicking on “Prada” in the Handbag department will show you all of our Prada handbags). I put something in my shopping bag, but it's not there anymore. Why? Your item may have disappeared for two reasons. The first reason is that you do not have a Capital Styles account. When you shop on our website without logging into an account, then your shopping bag will be emptied if you leave the website. The second reason is that when you added the item to your bag, there was only one left in stock. Someone else may have purchased that item before you were able to check out, so your shopping bag would no longer be able to hold the item. Because our designer merchandise often comes in limited quantities, we suggest that you purchase an item as soon as possible, before it has become sold out! I've already placed my order-- is it too late to change or cancel it? If the order is still being processed, then you may change or cancel it. However, if the order has already been processed or if we have shipped it, then you may not modify it (Please note: if your order has already been shipped, then Capital Styles is not responsible for shipping costs). If you meet the conditions for changing or canceling your order, please contact us for instructions on how to do so. Why are certain products out of stock? Designer merchandise is exclusive and valuable, which makes it difficult to obtain. Additionally, many styles and versions can only be offered for limited amounts of time and in limited quantities. We mark a product as out-of-stock if our inventory has run out of that item. We restock many of our items regularly; however, some very exclusive items are only available for a certain amount of time. For these reasons, we recommend that you purchase an items as soon as possible, so that it does not go out of stock while you are waiting. Will you be ordering more out-of-stock items? Generally, yes. We replenish many of our out-of-stock items. However, if the product is very exclusive, then we typically can only offer it for a short amount of time. If an exclusive product does run out of stock, then we either discontinue it entirely or replace it with a different version. How often do you update your inventory? At Capital Styles, we are proud of the fact that we are constantly updating our inventory. Every week-- sometimes even every day-- modify the site to reflect our most current inventory stats. We also add new products regularly. These measures ensure that you will always find the latest and most stylish products at CapitalStyles.com. Can I order by phone or fax? Yes, you can order by phone. On our Contact Us help section, you can view our various phone numbers. At this time, we cannot offer a fax number. What forms of payment do you accept? Capital Styles accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover); we will also accept cashier's checks and money orders. How long will it take to receive my order? Under normal circumstances, it will take 1-2 business days for us to approve, package, and prepare your order for shipment. If you have selected standard shipping (USPS Priority), the package should arrive at your address in an additional 5-7 days. Therefore, you can expect to receive your order within 6-9 business days. How do I use a promotional code? If you have a promotional code that you would like to use, simply type it in when we ask you to during the checkout process.
I am a first time customer; can I receive a discount on my first order? Yes-- enter promotion code “capital212” during checkout, and you will receive a 15% discount on your entire order. I am a returning customer; can I receive a discount on my next order? Yes-- enter promotion code “welcomeback” during checkout, and you will receive a 15% discount on your entire order. When is my credit card charged during the order process? Only once your order has been shipped will we charge your credit card. We will attempt to approve your billing information and authorize your card after you place your order. If I order an item that is out of stock, will I be charged? Will I receive my order? One of the main goals of Capital Styles is to ensure that our inventory is 100% accurate. Thus, we mark an item as out-of-stock when we have run out of that item. Unfortunately, some websites charge your credit card immediately after you purchase an item, even if that item is out of stock. But if you order an out-of-stock product at Capital Styles, we will place your order in our back order section. We will replenish our inventory and ship your order, and then we will charge your credit card. How do I register with CapitalStyles.com? If you would like to register with Club Capital, look for the registration link at the bottom left corner of our website and click on it. This link will bring you to the registration page, and you will then be instructed to enter your name, email address, password, and password hint. When you click “Continue”, we will log you into your account. You should log into your account anytime you want to shop on our website. You can log into your account at any time; simply click on the “My Account” link, which is located at the top right corner of our site. How do I log into my account? Click on the “My Account” link, which we have placed at the top right corner of our website. Clicking on this link will bring you to the Log In page; this is where you will enter your email address and password. Enter this information and then click on the “Continue” button. You will then be at your main account page. What should I do if I've lost or forgotten my password? We offer a way to reset your password, so that you may regain access to your account. To rest your password, click on the “My Account” link at the top right corner of our website; when you have reached the Log In page, click on the “Password Forgotten?” link. What should I do if I've changed my email address? What if I want to update my personal information? If you would like to change the address to which Capital Styles sends you emails, you must first log into your account. On the “My Account” homepage, click on the “View or change my account information” link. This will allow you to change your name, email address, telephone number, and/or fax number. The “My Account” homepage also include a link entitled “View or change entries in my address book.” This link allows you to update your billing and/or shipping address. If you would like to change your account password, click on the “Change my account password” link on the “My Account” homepage.


Returning and Exchanging Questions

What is your return policy? You may return your item(s) within 100 days for a full refund (excluding shipping costs). Each item must be in original, unused condition, and you must include all original tags and packaging in your return shipment. Note: this return policy does not apply to the home decor items that we sell. For more details about our return policy, see the Returns help section. Where do I send returned items? Please visit our Returns help section for instructions on returning an item. How do I process an exchange? Capital Styles strives to bring you the best possible values; thus, our products are not always available in large quantities, and we may not offer each product in every size. We apologize that we cannot offer exchanges. If you would like a different item or a different size, please return the product(s) and then place a new order. Please contact us for further assistance. We require your personal information so that we can process your orders. Additionally, we may use it to personalize your shopping experience on Capital Styles. Overall, we use your information for internal purposes and to comply with legal requirements. When we store your personal information on our secure server, we can shorten your checkout process and allow you to check your order status online. Is it safer to order from your website or from other websites that sell the same products? We use some of the most sophisticated security software available, because we believe that shopping online should be safe and secure.
